Manzanillo, Mexico is located in the state of Colima on Mexico's Golden Riviera, between Puerto Vallarta and Acapulco on the Pacific coast. Manzanillo has become one of the country's most important tourist resorts, and its excellent hotels and restaurants continue to meet the demands of both national and international tourists, with a year-round average temperature of 27 degrees °C (80 °F), it has the best climate of the West Coast, dryer than Puerto Vallarta and cooler than Acapulco.

Manzanillo Mexico consists of two bays with crescent-shaped Beaches, each about 4-miles in length. Bahía de Manzanillo is closer to downtown and is the older tourist section. Bahía de Santiago, to the west, is the newer and more upscale area. The two are separated by the Santiago Peninsula, a steep outcrop on whose slopes are some of the most Beautiful hotels. Ship channels are located at the southeast end of Bahía de Manzanillo where large ocean liners enter the port area. Manzanillo was once the scene of piracy and adventure. Nowadays, its peaceful bays and sophisticated tourist and port infrastructure have made it one of the main tourist resorts and trading centers in the west of Mexico.

Manzanillo's pristine beaches and exclusive resorts have been featured in "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous," and numerous celebrity golf tournaments are held here every year. The Las Hadas Golf course has been named as being among "the 100 greatest in the world" by Golf Digest magazine and the finish destination for the classic 2,500-mile San Diego to Manzanillo Yacht Race is at Las Hadas 70-boat marina.

Beaches - Playa de Cocos, Playa El Viejo, Playa San Pedrito, Playa Las Brisas, Playa Azul, Playa Salagu, Playa La Audiencia, Playa Santiago, Playa Olas Altas and Playa de Miramar. Manzanillo also offers wilderness with water birds, exotic animals and tropical plants in striking jungles that crawl up the mountain sides, tranquil salt -water marshes, and twisted mangrove swamps.

Manzanillo is known as "The World Capital of Sail fishing", because of its great and famous fishing tournaments held every year. Deep-sea fishing is one of the most important attractions for the tourism that comes to Manzanillo is fishing. It enjoys international reputation because of the simplicity it is practiced, here in Manzanillo. Due to the fact that in these waters has been captured the biggest number of sailfish worldwide, the port has received the title of The World Capital of the Sailfish, as we mentioned before.

Deep-sea fishing is a modality that needs crafts of regular size that are propitious to navigate distances of 16 km of the coast, in opened sea, where the water depth allows you to catch big specimen like, sailfish and black, striped and blue marlin. Manzanillo's advantage over other ports is that here, to catch an specimen, you need to navigate for only 10 to 15 minutes from the point of departure; but in other tourist destinations you have to navigate from 2 to 3 hours to catch one.
